Stephen Mark Shore, born on September 27, 1961, is an American clinical associate professor of special education at Adelphi University. He is an autistic individual who has authored several books on autism and disabilities, including "College for Students with Disabilities," "Understanding Autism for Dummies," "Ask and Tell," and "Beyond the Wall." Shore has served on the board of Autism Speaks and is one of the first two openly autistic board members in its history. He has also been involved in various organizations, including the Asperger's Association of New England and the Autism Society of America. His work focuses on matching best practices to the needs of autistic individuals across the lifespan.
