Biography:

Dr. Gary Nieman is a renowned expert in critical care medicine and pulmonary physiology, with over 30 years of experience in translational research. He currently serves as Professor Emeritus and Senior Research Scientist in the Department of Surgery at Upstate Medical University, and as an Adjunct Professor at Cornell University.
He is the Director of the Translational Critical Care Laboratory, where his research focuses on the pathogenesis and treatment of acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), ventilator-induced lung injury (VILI), and multiple organ dysfunction syndrome (MODS). Dr. Nieman has authored over 140 peer-reviewed publications and holds five patents related to lung-protective ventilation strategies
