Dr. Peter Averkiou

Dr. Peter Averkiou is a distinguished pediatrician and medical educator with over two decades of experience in clinical pediatrics and academic leadership. He currently serves as an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine, Florida Atlantic University, where he plays a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of physicians.
Dr. Averkiou is the Co-Director of the Four Foundations of Medicine Courses and leads several key educational initiatives, including the Service Learning Projects, Newborn Nursery Clinical Rotation, and the Synthesis and Transition Course. His work emphasizes early clinical exposure, compassionate care, and the integration of community-based learning into medical education.
