Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) & Lifestyle Medicine
This session focuses on the growing global burden of non-communicable diseases—including cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, cancer, chronic respiratory conditions, and mental health disorders—and the transformative role of lifestyle medicine in prevention and management. As NCDs continue to account for the majority of global morbidity and mortality, healthcare professionals play a vital role in implementing proactive, patient-centered strategies.
The session explores evidence-based lifestyle interventions such as nutrition, physical activity, stress management, sleep optimization, tobacco cessation, and reduction of harmful alcohol use. It also highlights models for integrating lifestyle medicine into primary care, community health programs, and multidisciplinary care pathways.
Participants will gain insights into early detection, behavior-change counseling, personalized wellness plans, digital tools for self-monitoring, and policy approaches aimed at reducing NCD risk factors at the population level. This session aims to empower healthcare providers with practical knowledge and innovative approaches to combat NCDs and promote long-term health and well-being.
