Farkhanda Afzal

Dr. Farkhanda Afzal is a distinguished educator and the founder of STEMWomenPK. She holds a PhD in Applied Mathematics from Beihang University, Beijing, China. Throughout her academic career, she has served as a faculty member at several renowned institutions, including Beihang University, Bahria University, KRL College, and the University of Education Lahore. Passionate about advancing STEM, Robotics, and Artificial Intelligence in Pakistan, Dr. Afzal played a pivotal role in establishing an educational robotics lab at NUST under the British Council’s Gender Equality Partnerships, in collaboration with the Eureka Robotics Centre at Cardiff Metropolitan University, Wales, UK. Her research expertise spans Pure and Applied Mathematics, with a strong emphasis on interdisciplinary applications. In recognition of her impactful work, Dr. Afzal is the recipient of the first-ever “Going Global Partnership” award by the British Council for her flagship project PIE (Partnership in Equality), UK Pakistan Women in Robotics & AI, marking a significant milestone in international collaboration and eight national higher education institutes for gender equality in STEM robotics & AI.
