Dr. Krishnagowdu Saravanan

Dr. Krishnagowdu Saravanan holds a Ph.D. in Biotechnology specializing in Plant Molecular Biology and Biotechnology, along with a Postgraduate Diploma in Cheminformatics and an M.Sc. in Biotechnology from Bharathiar University, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, India. Previously, he worked as a Scientist at Climate Crop, Centre for Cellular and Molecular Platforms (C-CAMP), NCBS/GKVK Campus, Bangalore Karnataka, India. His research focuses on plant genetic engineering and genome editing technology (CRISPR), plant metabolic engineering, and developing plant biostimulants from agricultural waste. He has published two Indian patents in the field of medicinal plant compounds against COVID-19 and a patent related to the conversion of thermal waste to nano sodium silicate for rice salinity stress tolerance, and a patent related to Nano pesticide for forestry. He has registered 10 Indian Designs and has filed multiple Indian design and copyright applications, including a recent Canadian copyright. He has published 12 books, 17 book chapters, 22 research articles, and made 15 NCBI submissions. He has received several awards, including the DST-INSPIRE Award, Best Young Faculty, and Young Scientist Awards.
