Biography:

Kime Tare is a PhD research scholar from the department of Horticulture, Sikkim University. His research work focuses on germplasm characterisation of crop plants using agro-morphological and biochemical traits. For biochemical evaluation, he specializes in analytical HPLC and GCMS to understand plant metabolomes. Furthermore, to understand and validate the existing morphological variation at DNA level, he specialization in application of molecular markers such as SSR, RAPD, SNP etc. in traditional plant breeding programmes. He specializes in using various statistical tools to understand the stability and genetic potential of individuals of an un-explored crop population through their morpho-biochemical traits while also understanding their population genetics through molecular data. Overall, his PhD research work is focused in providing prenatal lines for future breeding programs for organic-regenerative farming systems.
