Maternal & Women’s Health Nursing
This session explores the essential role of maternal and women’s health nursing in promoting safe pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum care, and overall wellness across the female lifespan. As women’s health needs become increasingly complex, nurses play a critical role in providing holistic, evidence-based, and culturally sensitive care that supports mothers, infants, and families.
Key topics include prenatal assessment, labor and delivery management, postpartum care, reproductive health, gynecologic conditions, fertility and family planning, high-risk pregnancy management, and strategies to reduce maternal morbidity and mortality. The session will also highlight mental health in the perinatal period, patient education, breastfeeding support, and the integration of technology in maternal health monitoring.
Participants will gain insights into current evidence-based practices, patient-centered communication, and interdisciplinary collaboration that enhance safety, positive birth experiences, and long-term health outcomes for women. Real-world case studies will demonstrate how nurses can advocate for equitable care, empower women, and contribute to healthier communities.
